West Ham are looking to offload Italian international defender Angelo Ogbonna this summer, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
They report that the Hammers are eyeing an ambitious summer double swoop for Maxi Gomez and Stanislav Lobotka, but need to clear the decks in order to raise the funds.
And the report says that Ogbonna, who is on £70,000 a week at the London Stadium according to Spotrac is included in that clearout of sorts.
Ogbonna struggled to make it into the Hammers’ first-choice backline for much of last season following the summer arrivals of Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena.

But Manuel Pellegrini affirmed back in December that he remains a fan of the defender, saying, “I trust a lot in him,” – as per Football.London.
With Winston Reid still struggling with injury and no longer looking like a viable option, Ogbonna may be able to provide useful defensive depth for Pellegrini.
That said, there has been a feeling for much of the season that Ogbonna was keen to move on and perhaps move back to Italy.
And West Ham fans demand players are completely committed to the cause and anybody who has had their head turned is perhaps best off leaving – especially if it allows expensive new arrivals to come in.
