West Ham United are in the race for Club Brugge striker Wesley Moraes this summer, according to a report by the Daily Mirror.
The Brazilian hitman netted 17 goals for the Belgian outfit this season and the Hammers will reportedly battle Newcastle United for his signature.
But while the Magpies are apparently waiting for Rafa Benitez’s contract situation to be resolved and Salomon Rondon’s permanent switch to the north east, West Ham are able to move quicker.
And the Daily Star report that the Hammers are out of the hunt for Celta Vigo hitman Maxi Gomez, having admitted defeat as Tottenham have raced ahead in the chase.

And with uncertainty over the future and suitability of Lucas Perez, Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll, the Hammers could do with someone coming in and hitting the goal trail.
Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio are perhaps the best options but are both converted wingers, using their pace and power to spearhead the West Ham attack.
The Hammers now play an attractive brand of football but to move to the next level, they need a proper frontman banging in the goals consistently.
Moraes could well be that man, and Pellegrini should be confident in their club’s ability to secure him ahead of Newcastle, with the confusion there.
