West Ham United are set to sign Benfica winger Mesaque Dju on a free transfer, according to Sky Sports.
They report that Dju’s move from the Portuguese outfit is set to go through today before he will link up with the Hammers’ Under 23 side initially.
Dju has represented Portugal at every youth level from the U16s to U20s and formed part of the Portugal side that won last year’s European Under-19 Championship and the U17 European Championship in 2016.
West Ham are no stranger to young Portuguese talent; they had Domingos Quina on their books before his move to Watford this summer and also currently have Xande Silva scoring goals in their youth side as well.

Quina is undoubtedly a talented player – and has shown more glimpses of that at Vicarage Road than he did in east London.
And the Hammers cannot afford to let Dju drift in the same way, because they have a proud history of bringing through their own young talent and have a squad that is in need of an injection of a new attacking dimension.
Quina simply did not get the first-team opportunities he needed at the London Stadium, and if Dju progresses as hopes, that pathway needs to be clearer for him.
