West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has spoken about the quality of Tottenham duo Hugo Lloris and Erik Lamela, who both happen to be left-footed players.
There may be a London rivalry that separates the Hammers and Spurs, but Lanzini has admitted that he’s impressed by shot-stopper Lloris and attacker Lamela when quizzed on them.
Lloris, 32, is the Spurs captain and a goalkeeper that has been a consistent Premier League performer for several years and lifted the World Cup with France last summer.
Meanwhile, Lamela is a playmaker that isn’t always a regular starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but does have an eye for goal and individual quality to change a game.
“I think he’s (Lloris) a very good goalkeeper. He has character. He has personality. He is an amazing goalkeeper,” Lanzini said, as quoted by West Ham’s Youtube account.
Lanzini went on to add further praise to Spurs winger Lamela, who is an international teammate of his with Argentina.
“He (Lamela) is a very good player. He has a very good left foot. He is strong. He has personality. He wants to play football, I like him,” Lanzini said.
West Ham still have to travel to Spurs in April for a Premier League clash and will be hoping to put a dent in their top four bid.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side did lose to Spurs 3-1 earlier in the season at the London Stadium and would surely love some form of revenge, but know how much quality they have within their squad.
