Released West Ham goalkeeper would be ideal for Liverpool

Liverpool will end into Saturday’s Champions League Final against Tottenham looking to avenge the disappointment of last season’s defeat to Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were beaten by Zinedine Zidane’s side 3-1 in Kyiv after a night to forget for Loris Karius. The goalkeeper gifted the Spanish giants two goals and hasn’t played for the Reds since.

Liverpool forked out megabucks in the summer to land Alisson Becker from Roma. The Brazilian has been in sensational form this season, claiming the Golden Glove award during his maiden season in England.

Simon Mignolet has been Becker’s understudy this season but according to the Daily Mail, he looks set to leave this summer. Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich will all compete for his signature which will cost £15 million.

His departure will leave Klopp looking for someone else to act as a backup to his sensational first-choice goalkeeper. Adrian was released by West Ham yesterday and he could be perfect for Liverpool.

The Spaniard’s departure ended a six-year association with the Hammers, a club where he was adored by the supporters. Goal recently indicated that the Premier League runners-up might have already discussed the possibility of signing the experienced stopper.

With Adrian being available on a free it makes the signing all the more sensible for Liverpool. It would seem somewhat foolish to spend millions on a goalkeeper who will essentially spend the majority of the season on the bench.

The 32-year-old boasts 152 Premier League appearances and is a safe pair of hands.

Liverpool have become a team capable of regularly challenging for titles. Adrian would surely relish the chance to finish his playing days at Anfield and claim a few medals before retirement.
