West Ham United look set to be without winger Andriy Yarmolenko for the next six months. According to The Mirror, the Ukrainian has been ruled out for much of the remainder of the season with an injury. The 28-year-old has reportedly suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and will miss the next six months of action.

The Ukrainian, who cost a reported £22 million this summer, has been in decent form recently. West Ham fans have been won around by the 28-year-old who has recently impressed with his displays.

West Ham took a chance on the player when snapping him up from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He had struggled to find his best form during his time in Germany. West Ham, however, remembered the fine form he had once shown with Dynamo Kiev and Ukraine, deciding he was worth the risk.

However, they knew the risk they were taking. Last season Yarmolenko spent two months on the sidelines after picking up an Achilles problem in January. It was one of the main reasons behind his failed stint with the German giants.

West Ham have a great player in Yarmolenko when fit. However, the risk may have not paid off.
