West Ham United will be hoping to improve on their tenth place finish when the 2019/20 campaign gets underway.

It was something of a disjointed campaign for the Hammers last time around and boss Manuel Pellegrini has work to do.

The summer recruitment looks decent, however. The highly-rated Pablo Fornals has arrived from Villarreal, whilst Sebastien Haller is set to sign for £45 million from Frankfurt (BBC Sport).

One man who could be like a new signing to Pellegrini is midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The 27-year-old suffered badly with injury last season, requiring surgery on a problematic ankle.

He returned for the last four games of the campaign and featured three times from the bench.

Some pictures of him in training have got West Ham fans excited to see the ex-Arsenal man in action this season.

Wilshere looks in great shape and looks to have been working hard in the gym in preparation for the new campaign.

The central midfielder has 174 Premier League appearances to his name and he would love to stay fit for the entire 2019/20 season.
