TBR Football has been told that West Ham United are set to stick with Graham Potter until the international break.
The Hammers have games at Everton and Arsenal before the next set of World Cup qualifiers brings another mid-season interval for the Premier League.
Now, TBR Football understand that whilst West Ham hold talks with potential successors, including Slaven Bilic and Nuno Espirito Santo, they won’t release Potter until they have their new man ready to come in.
That means that, barring a severe humbling at Everton at the hands of former boss David Moyes, Potter will have two more games in charge.
However, sources have told TBR Football that this would only be a ‘stay of execution’ and would not indicate a sudden change in belief that Potter would be the right man for the job.

David Sullivan remains in talks with Slaven Bilic and Nuno Espirito Santo
Talks with Bilic and Nuno have continued in the last week, and sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, that club owner David Sullivan is talking with the other members of the club’s hierarchy to assess their next step.
But as for Potter, his fate seems to be sealed with the East London club ready to part ways once a replacement is lined up.
As TBR Football revealed, Potter has the lowest win percentage of any West Ham manager in Premier League history, at just 24 per cent.
The Hammers sit second-to-bottom in the Premier League following just one win, which actually came against Nuno’s Nottingham Forest.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 16 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 8 | -3 | 4 | |
| 17 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 6 | 10 | -4 | 4 | |
| 18 | 5 | 0 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 5 | -4 | 3 | |
| 19 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 4 | 5 | 13 | -8 | 3 | |
| 20 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 3 | 12 | -9 | 0 |
Bailey told TBR Football: “Potter is a dead man walking, there is little doubt. I am told that the morale within the club is at an all-time low.
“There is a real fear that they are looking at relegation unless a change is made, and West Ham’s business plan can’t include a season or two outside the top-flight; it simply can’t happen.
“It would take a real seismic change of events for West Ham not to have a new manager in place by their next home match against Brentford.”
How Nuno Espirito Santo’s Premier League record compares to Slaven Bilic’s
Nuno should surely be considered the frontrunner to land the West Ham United job right now, given his record in the Premier League is actually quite impressive.
The Portuguese coach has done impressive work at both Wolves and Forest, taking them both in Europe for the first time in many years.
| Coach | Played | Won | Lost | Drawn | Points | Points per game |
| Nuno Espirito Santo | 184 | 72 | 45 | 67 | 261 | 1.42 |
| Slaven Bilic | 100 | 31 | 30 | 39 | 123 | 1.23 |
The 51-year-old’s ability to transform clubs should be the reason he is strongly considered by the East London club, ahead of Bilic.
Bilic enjoyed an impressive spell in East London, but the Hammers should be looking forward to a fresh start under Nuno.
