West Ham have been given a boost in their pursuit of Slavia Prague attacker Abdallah Sima, with Manchester United and Arsenal also said to be interested in the teenager.

The Evening Standard report that the Senegal international is keen to move to the Premier League after a breakout season with the Czech Republic club, with Sima hitting 19 goals in all competitions and quickly emerging as one of the top prospects in eastern Europe, with West Ham several clubs interested in the versatile forward.

CalcioMercato report that the 19-year-old attacker has been labelled as ‘the new Thierry Henry’ by Slavia following his impressive form with the club this season, and that the Czech club, at the time, were looking for a transfer fee of €50m for Sima, though as the Evening Standard report, this asking price is highly likely to be reduced once the summer window opens for business.

A striker is seemingly the priority for David Moyes this summer, with the West Ham manager likely to guide the Hammers to a European spot in the Premier League standings with Michail Antonio as the club’s main option in that position throughout the campaign.

TBR View: Sima signing could be the one that ends the striker curse

West Ham and strikers don’t seem to get along. The Irons signed Sebastien Haller in the summer of 2019 for a club-record fee of £45m as reported by BBC Sport, and within 18 months, the French centre-forward was off to Ajax on a permanent deal.

Central attackers have been a huge problem for West Ham, yet in Sima, they might finally have a player who can break the curse and become the reliable focal point in the front-line that the Hammers have been missing for so long, as well as a huge sign of intent if the east London side can beat out big-six Premier League sides to the teenager.
