West Ham travel to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon in a crucial fixture – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have suggested that senior defender Angelo Ogbonna is switched to a different position.

With only four games remaining in the Premier League season, the Hammers are 16th in the table and only have a three-point cushion above the relegation zone.

David Moyes’ team have a huge opportunity to drag themselves closer to safety this weekend, as they face a Norwich team at Carrow Road that are on the brink of relegation in 20th spot.

West Ham have had a mixed bag of results since football action resumed and suffered a 1-0 defeat against Burnley in midweek to keep the pressure firmly on themselves.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have picked out the left-back spot as a problem area in their side, with Aaron Cresswell failing to impress them.

They have claimed that switching Ogbonna from centre-back to a full-back role could help solve the issue ahead of the weekend’s vital fixture.

Ogbonna has been impressing this season in his preferred role in the heart of defence, but has on occasions during his career shown he can slot into a wide position.

The 32-year-old Italian is an experienced defender that is key to Moyes’ XI, so to give him a new role ahead of such a crucial fixture against Norwich would be a serious risk.
