A number of West Ham United supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on Manuel Lanzini’s performance in their frustrating 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Hammers had the chance to move up to third in the table. And it did appear that Manuel Pellegrini’s men may indeed get the three points.

Sebastien Haller gave the home side the lead nine minutes into the second-half at the London Stadium. However, Palace would turn the game around thanks to a penalty and a controversial late goal that had initially been ruled out for offside.

By the time the winning goal was scored, Lanzini had already been taken off the pitch. And it appears that few supporters had a problem with the playmaker being substituted.

The 26-year-old struggled to get into the game. Whoscored.com shows that he had just one attempt on goal, and he failed to make a single key pass during his 68 minutes on the pitch.

And it seems that the West Ham fans’ patience is running out. Lanzini has, understandably, taken some time to shake off the rust after spending a large portion of last season out injured.

But in six league starts this term, he is yet to score a goal and has only provided one assist. And plenty of the supporters are now expressing concern that he is nowhere near as influential as he had been before sustaining the injury.

Here is what some of the Hammers fans were saying about Lanzini’s performance on social media…
