West Ham fans react to Wout Weghorst reports

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Calciomercato this week claiming that the Hammers want Wout Weghorst.

Signing a new striker looks set to be David Moyes’s priority this summer.

The Hammers enjoyed an incredible campaign. But with their top goalscorers finishing the Premier League season with 10 goals each, it looks imperative that they add more fire-power.

And it seems that Weghorst is on their radar.

Calciomercato reported this week that West Ham are battling incoming Roma boss Jose Mourinho for the Wolfsburg star.

The report has divided opinion amongst Hammers supporters on social media.

Some have their concerns having seen the club sign Sebastien Haller off the back of a brilliant time in the Bundesliga.

The Dutchman is also 28. So he may not have too long left at his peak.

Having said that, Weghorst has been an outstanding goalscorer for several years. He has not scored fewer than 16 league goals in any of the last five campaigns.

And some fans feel that he would be an inspired addition. Tomas Soucek has benefitted from the quality of crosses going into the box during his time at the London Stadium.

And Weghorst is the kind of striker that would really thrive with that sort of service.
