West Ham need a striker as backup to Sebastien Haller and have been linked with a swoop for Real Socieded hitman Willian Jose.
As per Spanish outlet AS, the Hammers want to rival Tottenham for the signature of the 28-year-old and are eyeing a loan deal with an option to buy.
The report says a deal of that structure does not suit the Spanish club, who would rather sell the Brazilian. Tottenham are apparently unable to provide enough cash to buy him at the moment.
It also says that talks have cooled with Tottenham in recent days, which would allow West Ham to swoop if they could put together a suitable deal.

Some West Ham fans reacted to the report on Twitter and their viewpoint was negative, reflecting the feeling towards the club right now.
Some don’t believe the link, saying that their owners would not stump up the cash required and are just putting rumours out there to cover their back when they fail to sign anyone before the deadline.
Others don’t even want the striker, feeling that they need someone quicker who is already playing in England and would take less time to settle in.
