West Ham fans react to reported Ross Barkley interest

West Ham have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s central midfielder Ross Barkley – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have reacted on Twitter to the speculation.

The Mirror claims that the Hammers are keen on a potential swoop for the England international when the transfer window re-opens.

The report details that manager David Moyes wants to bring the 26-year-old to the London Stadium and hopes more regular first team action will boost his international chances ahead of the next major tournament in 2021.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have given a variety of responses to the Barkley reports, with some claiming that Moyes should be prioritising strengthening other areas of the pitch rather than the midfield.

Meanwhile, there are some who feel that the box-to-box midfielder could make an impact if he does join them from London neighbours Chelsea.

One supporter further suggested that there could be a possible swap deal in place with Chelsea for Declan Rice.

The Sun has recently reported that Chelsea are “growing confident” that they can secure a £45million deal to land West Ham’s highly-rated 21-year-old Rice, who can play in either midfield or defence.
