Liverpool are reportedly interested in a potential swoop for West Ham defender Issa Diop – but some Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter insisting they don’t want to let him go this month.
With the Reds suffering further injury problems in the heart of their defence, all eyes are on them to see if they sign a centre-half before Monday’s transfer deadline.
According to the Athletic, Liverpool could yet bring in a defender over the next few days, whether that be a permanent or loan deal.
It is explained that the Merseyside giants have made an enquiry to West Ham about their French centre-back Diop, who earns £67,000-a-week (Spotrac).
The report states that the Hammers would be unlikely to sanction a loan to Anfield unless it came with an obligation to buy, with the defender valued in excess of £20million.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media believe that allowing Diop to leave would be a mistake.
The 6ft 4in powerhouse has been a real solid figure in the backline since he joined in 2018, but has slipped down the pecking order this season in David Moyes’ plans and made just five appearances across all competitions.
But that hasn’t stopped defending Premier League champions Liverpool make a move for him, albeit he’s one of a few targets mentioned.
There also appears to be real belief from West Ham fans that the 24-year-old can still improve massively.
