West Ham are reportedly interested in Slavia Prague’s Tomas Soucek – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are excited by the reported interest in the midfielder.
Football.London reports the Hammers are pondering a potential swoop for the Czech Republic international during the current January transfer window.
It is understood that he is valued at £21million by Slavia Prague, who sit top of the Czech top-flight table
But the report details that West Ham could in fact negotiate a deal for half his valuation at £10.5million and West Ham are confident of potential securing a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Soucek is a defensive midfielder that has commonly captained his team this season and played every minute of their six Champions League group stage matches.
He’s played 26 matches across all competitions this season, chipping in with 12 goals and three assists from his deeper midfield position.
Soucek has proven he has an eye for goal when pushing forward into the final third, but also drops deeper to get on the ball and is a strong tackler too.
