West Ham fans react to reported interest in Manchester City’s John Stones

West Ham have been linked with a move for Manchester City’s John Stones – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have reacted positively to the speculation about possibly signing the defender.

According to the Sun, the Hammers have overtaken rivals Arsenal in the race to try sign the Man City centre-back and are in pole position.

The 26-year-old is expected to depart the Etihad Stadium this summer four years after joining the club, where he’s won two Premier League titles.

The report states that West Ham boss David Moyes is eyeing a reunion with a player he previously signed at Everton and he could bring him to the London Stadium for a bargain £20million.

Stones has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola at Man City, but had a standout season during the 2017/18 campaign to help them win the league title.

He is a 39-time capped England international with experience in big games for club and country, so adding someone like him for £20million must surely be appealing to West Ham.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have given a thumbs up to the speculation, with one extremely excited about his quality on the ball and suggests that could help them play out from the back.
