West Ham fans react to reported interest in £40million-rated forward
West Ham target Tammy Abraham will reportedly cost £40million to sign this summer from Chelsea – and some Hammers fans on Twitter have responded to links by stating they’d like to see him at the London Stadium.
According to the Telegraph, West Ham and Leicester City are tracking the situation of the 23-year-old striker.
It is explained that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers in the region of £40million for their centre-forward, who came through the club’s academy as a youngster.
The report states that the thought of a loan move wouldn’t appeal to the six-time capped England international, as he wants to find a home to play regularly, preferably with boyhood club Chelsea.
Unfortunately, Abraham has fallen out of favour under Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, and is being linked with an exit.
The 6ft 5in frontman has a decent record of 30 goals in 81 first-team appearances for Chelsea, with 12 goals across all competitions this season. However, he can’t nail down a starting position.
A selection of West Ham supporters on social media recognise £82,000-a-week (Salary Sport) star Abraham has a high reported price tag, but feel he’s worth the gamble.
He’s an all-round forward pace and physicality, and the Hammers desperately need another attacker in Davd Moyes’ squad next season to compete with Michail Antonio.
Here are some Hammers fans discussing Abraham:
I'd pay that happily.

Haller cost us 45 million so why isn’t Abraham worth 40?

He is but we should be able to get him cheaper since he’s out of favour and is apparently going to force a move

Maybe meet them somewhere between around £32 million might do it. Would be a good signing and he'd fit well into the system we play.

That's @WestHam knackered then!! That said we could put the £25m from Haller towards it! unless that's mysteriously disappeared

I think if we get European football it’s a great idea. If we don’t look for cheaper https://t.co/82BI7lhaXC

He is British so it’s not an unexpected amount, but is a high price for effectively one to two decent seasons. A deal worth up to £40m with a lower amount up front I think would be decent business. Will GSB do that though given every recent expensive signing hasn’t worked out?
