Recent reports have claimed that West Ham United striker Andy Carroll may have played his last game for the Hammers after suffering an ankle injury – and West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter.
The Times have claimed that the 30-year-old striker has picked up an ankle problem. There are doubts at the club that the former Newcastle and Liverpool man will recover in time to play before the end of the season.
The report also states that it is unlikely that the Hammers will renew Carroll’s £80,000-a-week deal. His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
That means Carroll could have played his last game for the east Londoners. He has only managed 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring just one goal.
The likes of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Michail Antonio have been preferred to Carroll. The striker has managed just 142 appearances in all competitions in seven seasons – an average of about 20 games a season.
West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Carroll may have played his last game in claret and blue, and the majority are delighted. Plenty of fans are keen to see the back of the striker, giving up hope on Carroll overcoming his injury woes.
Get Gomez in the summer to replace him Perez and Hernandez
If Arnie goes then we will need another striker in

Had great potential ON HIS DAY, but he’s took advantage of his own career. Injuries can’t be helped but it’s off the field what’s let him down. Thankunext

Nothing buy a bystander with just minor glimmers of his ability due to injuries. Sad to see but we cannot afford a player that hardly kicks a ball.
