West Ham United gave runaway Premier League leaders arguably their biggest scare of the season, despite losing 3-2 at Anfield.
The Hammers were level at the break after Issa Diop had cancelled out Gini Wijnaldum’s early opener.
After the restart, Anfield was shellshocked when Pablo Fornals converted a right-wing cross to hand the Hammers a shock lead.

Liverpool weren’t to be denied, however, and won thanks to Mo Salah and Sadio Mane strikes ensuring a 22-point advantage remained.
One standout performer for West Ham was Tomas Soucek. The Czech midfielder joined on loan during January and looked the part before limping off shortly after half-time.
The 24-year-old was playing in just his third Premier League game and the £13 million that West Ham would have to pay to sign him permanently already looks like a steal.
Soucek’s withdrawal was evident as West Ham tired towards the end of the contest and they will hope he is on the mend soon.
Supporters were certainly delighted with his contribution and after the game, they took to Twitter.

Having signed from Slavia Prague it may have been feared that he wouldn’t get up to scratch quick enough to help West Ham in their relegation fight.
That hasn’t proved the case, however, and he looks a smart piece of business.
Here is a selection of tweets from West Ham fans on the performance of Soucek.
