West Ham fans react to links with Manchester United duo

West Ham United were linked with moves for Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones yesterday, according to a report by The Independent.

The Manchester United duo are thought to be on David Moyes’ list of transfer targets should they stay in the Premier League.

West Ham are four points clear of the drop zone and it would appear the boss already has a shortlist in mind.

Lingard and Jones have both fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to continue his recruitment drive in the summer and could allow the duo to depart.

Moyes will hope West Ham can kick on next season and will try and attract the sort of players to help the club climb the table.

Lingard has shown glimpses of promise in the past but at 27 he really needs to be playing regular football.

Jones too hasn’t really done much at United for a few years now and he will surely want to prove he still has what it takes at Premier League level.

West Ham fans don’t seem overly convinced, felling Lingard or Jones don’t fit the mantra of signing young, hungry players.

Following yesterday’s report, we looked at what the Hammers faithful were saying about the link on Twitter.
