West Ham fans react to ‘different level’ Samir Nasri’s debut

West Ham United are into the next round of the FA Cup after goals from Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll gave them the win over Birmingham City. It was a comfortable win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and there was plenty to be excited about after the full-time whistle was blown.

One reason why West Ham fans will be happy with the performance will be getting to see Samir Nasri in action.

The French international recently joined the club on a free transfer, This came after over a year out of action due to a doping suspension.

But yesterday he showed that class is permanent. The 31-year-old was brilliant for West Ham in the heart of the field.

His link-up play with the attack provided West Ham with countless opportunities to get at Birmingham. With Declan Rice happy to sit back and do the dirty work, Nasri thrived.

It was a display that certainly oozed class with some West Ham fans even believing he deserves to immediately become a starter for the club.

With the next match for West Ham against Nasri’s former team Arsenal, the nostalgia involved calls for it.

However, it would seem unlikely he is going to be thrown in at the deep end so soon after making his comeback.

But West Ham fans liked what they saw from Nasri first time around. Manuel Pellegrini got the best out of the Frenchman at Manchester City. West Ham fans will hope the same can happen at the London Stadium…
