A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Craig Dawson’s display as the Hammers beat Burnley 1-0 on Saturday.
You could certainly understand why Irons supporters – and this particular writer – felt that David Moyes signing Dawson on loan was a poor move in the summer.

The 30-year-old had suffered two relegations in three years. And after being linked with some big-money moves earlier in the window, it appeared to be a hugely underwhelming decision to bring in a Championship defender on loan.
And the confusion over the move only grew as Dawson went into late December still awaiting his debut.

But since appearing for the first time, Dawson has been nothing short of outstanding.
And his latest superb display came this weekend as the Irons beat Burnley 1-0 at the London Stadium. As shown by Whoscored.com, he made seven clearances in the victory.
Remarkably, West Ham have kept clean sheets in all four of the games Dawson has played. And many have now implored the club to make his move permanent – as they reportedly plan to (via Watford Observer). Some would even do it during this window.
Of course, there are likely to be times ahead when Dawson is not quite as impressive. But he has silenced his doubters. And he has shown that he still has plenty to contribute at the highest level.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Dawson’s display…
