West Ham fans react to confirmed injury update on Lukasz Fabianski

West Ham have confirmed that goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will only be unavailable for a couple of weeks – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are delighted with the news.

The Poland international previously missed a few months of this season through injury and that was a big blow to the Hammers.

In just his third game back since his injury, Fabianski was forced off last Friday against Sheffield United after appearing to damage the same hip muscle

But West Ham have confirmed (official website) that it’s likely to see the 34-year-old miss just a couple of weeks due to “minimal inflammation” around his stitches.

Fabianski is a pivotal part of the team that makes them a much better side when he’s involved and brings a calmness to the backline.

The shot-stopper is miles ahead of the club’s other goalkeepers David Martin and Roberto, which is why it’s great news for them that he doesn’t face another long-term layout.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media are relived by the Fabianski update and had feared the worst for him.

He looks set to at least miss league fixtures against Everton and Leicester City, as well as West Brom in the FA Cup fourth round.
