West Ham fans react to Brandon Williams reports

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun this week claiming that the Hammers are interested in taking Brandon Williams on loan.

Williams could be on the way out of Manchester United during the final days of the window. He has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford this term.

The Sun reports that both Southampton and West Ham want the 20-year-old. The Hammers are looking for cover at left-back with Arthur Masuaku out injured.

The Daily Mirror reported that a loan enquiry for Emerson Palmieri had been rejected by Chelsea. And it now appears that they are putting themselves in the hunt for Williams.

The report has divided opinion on social media. Some would not be particularly happy about the youngster coming in to the London Stadium for the rest of the season.

For others, only a deal that leaves the door open for a permanent move would appeal. Williams – who earns £70,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – is not yet the finished article. And thus, they are not sure that a loan move would be particularly worthwhile.

Some however, think that it would be a good piece of business. He is a talent. And West Ham would be taking a gamble letting the window close without adding more depth.
