A number of West Ham United fans are saying the same thing after the club confirmed on Twitter that Andriy Yarmolenko has been called up to Ukraine’s squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Yarmolenko has been in fine form this season. He has scored three goals in seven Premier League appearances this term. Only Sebastien Haller has been more prolific at the start of the campaign.

So it is no surprise that Ukraine have called the 29-year-old up for their games with Lithuania and Portugal. Yarmolenko has long been one of the country’s most important players.
But the announcement has left plenty of West Ham fans feeling extremely concerned. As reported by The Telegraph, the £17.5 million signing spent 10 months on the sidelines after sustaining an Achilles injury.

He has been superb since returning to Manuel Pellegrini’s ranks at the start of this season. And some of the supporters are worried about him coming through two games for his country.
It would certainly not be a shock to see Yarmolenko play both games. West Ham could really do with the forward coming through the games unscathed.
Despite their defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend, Pellegrini’s men have made a bright start to the campaign. And keeping Yarmolenko fit and firing looks to be key to their chances of keeping their momentum going.
Here is what some of the West Ham fans were saying after the announcement…
