West Ham fans react on Twitter to Craig Dawson’s display

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Craig Dawson’s performance as the Hammers were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United tonight.

David Moyes’s men were denied a place in the quarter-final at Old Trafford. Scott McTominay scored the decisive goal in extra-time to put the home side through.

But a number of West Ham players seemed to impress the supporters. And Dawson was certainly one of those who really stood out.

The 30-year-old has proved to be a revelation for the Irons. He had to wait a while for his debut. But he now appears to be one of the first names on the team sheet for Moyes.

And he was colossal once again on Tuesday. As shown by Whoscored.com, he won three aerial duels. He also made three successful tackles, two interceptions and three clearances for the Hammers.

Ultimately it was not enough to help West Ham book their spot in the last eight of the competition.

But for the supporters, it was another reminder of the masterstroke the club seem to have produced by bringing Dawson to the London Stadium.
