West Ham fans react on Twitter to Asmir Begovic links

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun suggesting that the Hammers are interested in signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

A new goalkeeper looks set to be a key priority for the Hammers in January. Roberto has proved to be a poor signing, and it would be a surprise if he played for the club again in the future.

Lukasz Fabianski should be back by January. But Manuel Pellegrini would be forgiven for wanting a new second-choice stopper to come in while the window is open.

And one of the names reportedly in the frame is Begovic. The Sun reports that the 32-year-old – who is on loan at Qarabag – is looking to leave the Cherries in January, either on a permanent basis or on another loan.

The Sun reports that he has around two and a half years left on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, and Bournemouth will want a large chunk of his £60,000-a-week wages covered if he leaves on loan.

Unfortunately for Begovic, it appears that there are not many West Ham fans who want to see him arrive at the London Stadium.

Begovic’s form appears to have taken a major dip over the last few years. He was once arguably one of the Premier League’s most consistent goalkeepers. However, his stock has fallen dramatically since he joined the Cherries.

And even as a backup to Fabianski, the supporters are not pleased about the links. They hope that there is nothing in the reports.

Here is what some of the fans made of the rumours…
