A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Arthur Masuaku’s performance in the Hammers’ narrow defeat on Saturday.
David Moyes needed his side to produce a performance after their miserable start to the Premier League campaign.
Unfortunately the game ended in defeat for the Irons. But there were certainly some positive signs from the visitors as Arsenal secured a 2-1 win.
And Masuaku is one of those to have left the fans feeling slightly more optimistic than they had been after last weekend.
The 26-year-old was deployed in a wing-back role. And many thought that that position suited him a lot more than being a more disciplined full-back.
In fact, many have expressed some frustration towards Moyes for taking him off before the full-time whistle. If anyone was going to make something happen, Masuaku was certainly a real contender.
And plenty of fans have heaped praised on the wide-man. He has come in for a fair amount of criticism in recent times.
But one supporter even suggested that Saturday’s game saw Masuaku’s best performance for the Hammers. It was certainly an incredibly encouraging sign that West Ham needed.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to his display…
Masuaku has to start from now on in the preferred position he played last night, great performance, but who knows with Moyes, most probably throw him in as left back!

Impressed with Masuaku tonight. Great delivery into the box and creating chances down that left-hand side. Exactly what we’ve needed ⚒️

Best game I’ve seen Masuaku play for us, 2nd half was crying out for Haller to go up top with Antonio for a least 30 mins, every time Bowen went forward 2nd half I wished it was Yarmo running at them. Gutted, loathe the Moyseasaurus. Good night. #GSBOUT
