A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun on Sunday (20/12; page 65) claiming that West Bromwich Albion are interested in taking Issa Diop on loan in January.

Diop has endured a difficult season for David Moyes’s men. The Frenchman has started just three times in the Premier League this term.

And it has been claimed that the Irons are prepared to consider letting him go in January. According to The Sun on Sunday (20/12; page 65), West Ham are willing to listen to loan and permanent offers for the 23-year-old.

And it is claimed that Sam Allardyce is keen to take him to the Hawthorns. It is suggested that the Baggies are interested in loaning Diop.

However, judging by the reaction to the reports from West Ham fans, it seems highly unlikely that Allardyce will get his man.

Despite Diop’s lack of game-time, the supporters can see no reason why Moyes would let the centre-back join West Brom for the rest of the season.

‘They can have Dawson’

In fact, a couple of fans have suggested that West Ham should let Craig Dawson return to the Hawthorns instead.

Of course, the feeling may be different if Diop – who earns £67,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – was linked with a big-money exit given his recent struggles. But a loan move to another Premier League side is certainly not appealing to many.
