West Ham fans react on Twitter as Arsenal reportedly eye Jesse Lingard

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun over the weekend claiming that Arsenal want Jesse Lingard.

Signing Lingard on loan in January was a masterstroke from the Hammers. He has scored eight goals in just nine Premier League appearances to leave David Moyes’s men fourth in the table.

Unsurprisingly, West Ham want to keep the 28-year-old. But it appears that the Irons will have to see off competition from the Gunners.

According to The Sun, Mikel Arteta wanted Lingard in January before his move. And it is suggested that they remain interested in the attacking midfielder.

The report notes that Arsenal would be able to meet his £110,000-a-week wages. However, it appears that few West Ham fans are worried about the Gunners’ interest.

It has been a difficult campaign for Arteta’s side. They currently sit ninth in the top flight, and they find themselves 10 points adrift of West Ham with seven games remaining.

And some Irons supporters do not believe that Lingard could possibly want to join Arsenal over staying at the London Stadium if he has a choice this summer.
