West Ham United star Tomas Soucek scored for the Czech Republic last night as they defeated Slovakia 2-0, earning his country promotion in the process.

The central midfielder was in fine form as he collected his 30th cap for his nation and he’ll head back to the London Stadium in confident spirits.

Soucek signed for the Hammers permanently in July after a successful loan spell with the club last season.

He made the move for £19.1 million and checked in from Slavia Prague where he had become a cult hero.

Soucek is well on his way to stardom in East London too. He has quickly become a fan favourite with his combative displays in the middle of the park.

Moyes has endured some criticism since arriving at West Ham but in Soucek, he has found a real gem.

The 25-year-old has started all eight of West Ham’s opening Premier League fixtures, scoring the winner against Fulham before the international break.

Following his goal last night, supporters have taken to Twitter to rave about their midfield maestro.

They were clearly impressed with their star performer and here is what they were saying about the former Slavia Prague ace.
