West Ham fans react as they are linked with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah

West Ham have recently been linked with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by claiming they would love to see him at the London Stadium.

The Daily Star claims that David Moyes’ side have looked at the 24-year-old as a possible target, but there has been no approach made for him yet during this summer transfer window.

It is explained that the Hammers are in search of signing a new centre-half, with offers made for Burnley’s James Tarkowski, Napoli’s Nikola Maksimovic and Juventus’ Daniele Rugani already.

West Ham appear to be intent on doing business before the window shuts and Tah is a new target that has cropped up on the shortlist.

Tah, 24, is a highly-rated defender that is an ever-present in the Leverkusen team and also a Germany international that has nine caps for his country.

He is a powerful centre-back that is strong in the air and good with the ball at his feet, plus he’s proven himself to be a seriously consistent performer in the Bundesliga during recent seasons.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have responded to the Tah speculation to claim he’s a target they would like to see in their XI this season.
