West Ham fans react as team to face Manchester United is confirmed
West Ham United boss David Moyes has named his team to face Manchester United at the London Stadium this afternoon. He has made two changes to the team that drew 0-0 with Southampton last weekend.
Kurt Zouma comes in at centre-back in place of Craig Dawson, whilst Nikola Vlasic is the man tasked with replacing the suspended Michail Antonio.
Moyes knows his team will come up against a formidable United line-up. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both start for the Red Devils for the Premier League affair.
West Ham confirmed line-up: West Ham XI: Fabianski, Coufal, Zouma, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Benrahma, Vlasic, Bowen
Can Vlasic replace Antonio?
That really is the million-dollar question. His sending-off last week was really unfortunate for the Hammers, with Moyes not blessed with an abundance of options in attack.
Vlasic now has to live up to the hype that has surrounded his move from Lille earlier this summer.
At 23 he looks like an exciting addition and he’ll be hoping to live up to his billing by doing well against United today.
What have fans said about the West Ham team?
Naturally, some fans are concerned about Antonio’s absence. That can’t be helped though and Moyes has to find another way to defeat his former club.
West Ham do have some quality in their ranks and the last 12 months have been a really good time to support the Hammers.
There is a real togetherness at the London Stadium and you wouldn’t bet against West Ham getting something off United today.
Here is what fans have been saying on Twitter as Moyes names his team for today’s game.
