West Ham fans react as Said Benrahma move reportedly nears

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Sky Sports claiming that the Hammers are closing in on a deal for Said Benrahma.

The Hammers enjoyed a quiet summer. Vladimir Coufal was the only new face to arrive. So it always looked likely that they may be one of the busier Premier League sides ahead of the window’s closure on Friday.

And it appears that they may be in line to pull off one of the most exciting deals since the international deadline on Monday.

According to Sky Sports, they are edging closer to agreeing a move for Benrahma. It is suggested that the Brentford man is in line to potentially move in a deal that could be worth £30 million.

Sky Sports adds that the two clubs are in advanced talks over the Algeria international.

Unsurprisingly, the rumours have gone down incredibly well amongst West Ham fans on social media. Admittedly, there are some who are refusing to believe that Benrahma may end up at the London Stadium until the moment he is pictured holding a Claret and Blue shirt.

But several supporters clearly feel that it would be a fantastic signing for Hammers. Benrahma scored 17 league goals last season. And, while he is yet to open his account in the Championship this time around, he scored a stunning brace against Fulham in the Carabao Cup recently.

Some have even suggested that he could be a replacement for former Irons sensation Dimitri Payet – should he complete a move.

Here is how some of the supporters have reacted to the reports…
