A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting that the Hammers are interested in Chris Wilder.
Manuel Pellegrini appears to be coming under increasing pressure at the London Stadium. The Irons have not won a game since September, and they have now lost their last three. They have conceded nine in the process.
The Daily Mirror suggests that a list of potential candidates has been put together in case Pellegrini does depart.
The Mirror suggests that both David Moyes and Chris Hughton are on the club’s radar. But it is also suggested that the Hammers are interested in Sheffield United boss Wilder.
Wilder has done a fantastic job at Bramall Lane. He has won two promotions in three seasons. And United now sit sixth in their first campaign back in the Premier League.
West Ham fans pessimistic
It is no surprise that other top flight sides are taking an interest in Wilder. And it appears that plenty of West Ham fans would happily see Wilder replace Pellegrini.
However, it is mentioned more than once that they cannot see why Wilder would choose to leave Sheffield United for West Ham. There is a large gap between the two in the table right now, and the Hammers supporters are clearly worried that their club is not moving in the right direction.
Here is what some of the West Ham fans were saying about Wilder amid recent reports…
Would love Wilder BUT he won’t leave Sheff Utd for us sadly https://t.co/whqfQXpMYB

Why on earth would he want to leave Sheffield Utd for us?

I would happily have Eddie Howe, Chris Wilder or Danny Crowley in charge of West Ham.

Dyche should be top target imo with Howe close behind. Wilder seems good but is not experienced enough in the premier and the rest of the name linked don’t matter.

I hope this is fake news, no disrespect to the guy, but NO NO NO!

Wilder would be a great appointment but Sheffield United is his favourite club and his passion I doubt he’d want to leave that to come to West Ham https://t.co/3KcBSoYCiX
