West Ham fans react as Ravel Morrison signs for Middlesbrough on loan

Ravel Morrison has completed a loan move from Sheffield United to Championship side Middlesbrough on deadline day – and West Ham United fans have reacted to the confirmed move on Twitter.

Morrison, 26, has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded the England youth international when he broke through the same Manchester United academy that boasted Paul Pogba. Many felt he was the better talent, compared to the Frenchman.

He managed three senior appearances for United, but has since played for eight other teams – failing to find a home. Morrison has struggled with off-the-pitch troubles, and the failure to live up to enormous predictions about his future.

He has played for West Ham, Birmingham, Cardiff and QPR before a surprise move to Serie A side Lazio. He then tried his luck in Mexico with Atlas, before a brief stint in Sweden with Ostersunds. Then, in the summer, he moved back to England.

Chris Wilder gave him a chance at Sheffield United, but he managed just four appearances during the first half of the season for the Blades. Now, Jonathan Woodgate is the next manager to try and get the best out of Morrison, at Middlesbrough.

Morrison has joined on loan until the end of the season at The Riverside. But with his Blades contract expiring in the summer, he may have played his last game for Sheffield United. West Ham fans have reacted to their former player’s move.
