West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will be sidelined for at least two months with a hip injury, according to BBC Sport.
The former Arsenal man went off injured in the first half of the Hammers’ 2-2 draw away from home against Bournemouth on Saturday and the prognosis is not good.
Roberto came off the bench at the Vitality Stadium to make his debut and fellow summer signing David Martin is waiting in reserve.
But panicking West Ham fans are now regretting both signing Roberto – they don’t think he’s good enough – and letting Adrian leave during the summer.
It might not be as straightforward as that; Adrian did not want to sit around and wait on the bench for another season behind Fabianski.
As it turns out, Alisson got injured so he’s in the side at Liverpool and now it’s turned out that an opening would have come at West Ham as well.
The supporters can only hope that Roberto comes good with a run of games behind him and adjusts to English football but if he realises their worst fears, the longing for Adrian to come back will only grow.
