Luka Jovic completed a return to German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Real Madrid and scored two goals in a 3-1 win over FC Schalke – and West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter amid reports of an offer.
Jovic, 23, completed a £52million move from Frankfurt to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 after netting an impressive 36 goals during 75 Frankfurt matches. But his move to Real has flopped, netting only two in 32.
The form of veteran French striker Karim Benzema has stunted the Serbian’s progress – with plenty of criticism coming the former Benfica star’s way. He has now rejoined Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season.
The move has seen him instantly rediscover his shooting boots. Jovic only came on in the 62nd minute for Frankfurt but he took full advantage of his opportunity – finding the back of the net twice in the last 30 minutes.
German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau claimed that West Ham made an offer to bring Jovic to the London Stadium earlier this month – before he returned to Eintracht Frankfurt. Napoli and Milan also made offers.
West Ham supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that Jovic netted twice on his second debut for Frankfurt – the same amount of goals he managed in 18 months at Real Madrid. The majority are concerned.
