West Ham fans react as Liverpool reportedly eye one of their attacking stars
Liverpool have reportedly added West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen to their summer shortlist. The ex-Hull City man was excellent for the Hammers during 2020-21, having a hand in 13 goals during the Premier League campaign. West Ham fans have reacted to Liverpool eyeing Bowen.
Bowen, 24, scored eight goals and created five more in 38 league games for the Hammers – as David Moyes guided the London side into Europe. That is despite Bowen starting just 30 of West Ham’s 38 games, and completing 90 minutes on just six occasions. He has a contract at West Ham till 2025.
The Hammers ace is on Liverpool’s radar this summer. The Athletic claim Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of Bowen following his 18 months at West Ham. The report says that if West Ham do not look to hand him a new contract or look to do so, then Liverpool will chance their arm.
What have West Ham fans said about Liverpool wanting Bowen?
Liverpool already have numerous options up top. With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane expected to continue starting up top either side of Roberto Firmino. Diogo Jota is first reserve for any of those three. Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi are set to leave this summer and Liverpool need cover.
Bowen could be ideal. Likely to happy to play a rotation role in order to get his move to Liverpool, Bowen might be tempted. But he is about to embark on European football with West Ham. Hammers fans have reacted to the news that Bowen is a target for Liverpool this summer.
TransferMarkt claim PLG look after Bowen – the same agency that represent Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
