Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been offered to West Ham United ahead of the new season, according to the Daily Mirror.
They report that the Hammers have likely missed out on Maxi Gomez and second choice Callum Wilson looks set to sign a new contract with Bournemouth.
Balotelli is available on a free transfer after leaving Marseille this summer, and won the Premier League during his time with City, in 2012.
But there is no suggestion that the Hammers actually want him, as Manuel Pellegrini looks for an improved frontline after allowing three senior hitmen to leave this summer.

But with no obvious first-choice striking target and the club flying out for the Asia Cup with just Javier Hernandez by way of a recognised striker, some Hammers are starting to worry that their club may turn to the Italian wildcard.
They don’t want that to happen – because of Balotelli’s attitude problems and inconsistency in the past, which are the last thing the Hammers need having just got rid of Marko Arnautovic.
