West Ham United have reportedly made contact over a potential move to sign Barcelona playmaker Rafinha this summer, with a bargain fee being touted for the two-time Brazil international – and Hammers fans have responded on Twitter.
Rafinha, 27, is out of favour under Ronald Koeman this summer with the Dutch manager bringing Philippe Coutinho back in from the cold. Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong and plenty of others are above Rafinha in the pecking order.
The Brazilian impressed out on loan at Celta Vigo last season, scoring four goals from the middle of the park in 32 La Liga appearances. He has clocked up 90 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona, in which he has had a hand in 20 goals.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have claimed that West Ham have opened talks over a move to sign Rafinha, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Spanish side. It is believed his asking price is a bargain £14.5million.
However, West Ham have competition in the race for Rafinha before Monday’s deadline. It is believed Serie A side Torino are also keen on landing the midielder – who is the brother of Liverpool superstar Thiago Alcantara.
West Ham supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that David Moyes and the Hammers are interested in luring Rafinha to the club from the Nou Camp – and the majority have urged their club to get a deal done.
