West Ham United have been under pressure to bring in a central defender for the entirety of the summer but the latest report claims that could make their second addition at centre-back in a week – and Hammers fans have responded on Twitter.
The loan-to-buy signing of Craig Dawson was announced on Monday evening, as the 30-year-old moves to the London Stadium following relegation with Watford. However, the Hammers have seemingly not stopped there.
Indeed, Danish website Bold claim that West Ham are close to completing the £1.2million signing of 20-year-old Silkeborg defender Frederik Alves Ibsen. But the Hammers will have to wait until at least January to see him in claret and blue.

That is because the current window only allows the Hammers to buy players from the Championship – or rest of the Football League. While a deal can be completed for Ibsen, he will have to remain at Silkeborg until January at the earliest.
Ibsen, who already has four caps for Denmark’s Under-21 side, has clocked up an impressive 48 senior appearances for his boyhood club – including 16 in Denmark’s senior tier. But since then, Silkeborg have been relegated.
West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that they could be about to complete the signing of the 6ft 3in youngster – and some Hammers fans believe Ibsen could be a good addition for the future.
Some, though, are concerned he could rot in the club’s academy – comparing him to 19-year-old Goncalo Cardoso.
