West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly going head to head in a bid to sign Benfica striker Haris Seferovic before Friday’s deadline – and Hammers fans have reacted to the new link on Twitter.
Both London clubs are looking to sign a striker before 11pm on Friday, with Harry Kane on the sidelines due to a torn hamstring and Sebastian Haller struggling since he moved to east London. David Moyes has not given Albian Ajeti a chance.
Spurs have been linked with the likes of Willian Jose, Krzysztof Piatek, Ze Luis, Islam Slimani and more, while West Ham have focused on improving other areas first. Tomas Soucek is close to a move, while Matty Cash and Joe Allen have been linked.

Now, Portuguese outlet O Jogo have claimed that West Ham and Spurs have made contact over a potential move for Switzerland international Seferovic. Somewhat a journeyman, Seferovic has impressed at times for Benfica.
Disappointing spells with Frankfurt, Fiorentina and Real Sociedad was followed by a move to Benfica in the summer of 2017. In his first two season, he scored 34 goals in 80 games. This season, though, he has netted just six in 27.
However, 12 of those outings have come from the bench. It is believed Benfica want £25million for his services, despite his £51million release clause. Hammers fans, though, have urged their club to steer clear of the Swiss striker.
