West Ham United are being linked with a move for AS Saint-Etienne midfielder Yann M’Vila ahead of the summer window – and Hammers fans are excited for a deal to be done.
French newspaper L’Equipe have claimed the 28-year-old is a target for the Hammers, with Manuel Pellegrini likely to want to bring in a central midfielder.
Mark Noble has impressed once again while Declan Rice’s breakthrough has seen him earn a place in the England team. But Pedro Obiang has struggled, while Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere have been injured for some time.
M’Vila was once supposedly the next big midfielder when he was shining at Stade Rennais during his early career. It saw him play for Inter Milan, but he struggled with the Nerazzuri.
He has had a spell in England. During the summer of 2015, he joined Sunderland on loan for the season and impressed – clocking up 40 appearances in all competitions for the Wearside outfit.
A 22-time France international, M’Vila finally ended his dismal spell at Rubin Kazan in Russia to join Saint-Etienne. He has clocked up 33 appearances this season and even captained Les Verts.
Renowned for his strength in the middle of the park, M’Vila is very good at the ugly side of the game – breaking up attacks and keeping the ball. He is somewhat of a bulldozer in midfield.
His impressive form has alerted the Hammers over a possible move this summer. Despite having a contract until the summer of 2022, West Ham are keen and fans are certainly excited with the link.
Good signing better than Obiang and Noble

He has actually been decent the last couple years in France. If hes cheap I'd take him for the squad.
