West Ham United secured a crucial three points over Burnley on Monday night in the race for the Premier League’s top four thanks to a brace from Michail Antonio – but Hammers fans have heaped praise on Vladimir Coufal.
Coufal, 28, has been in stunning form for the Hammers since his move from Slavia Prague last summer. Many questioned the addition of the Czech Republic international when he first joined, but he has been brilliant.
Clocking up his 32nd appearance for the Hammers on Monday night, David Moyes and his side were tasked with a pivotal match in which they needed to win to keep their top-four hopes alive. They went 1-0 down to Chris Wood.

But striker Wood’s 11th of the season was cancelled out by Michail Antonio’s brace – and the scoreline remained the same. Coufal’s brilliant cross saw Antonio head home an equaliser, before he flicked a Said Benrahma cross in.
It was Coufal’s sixth assist of the season, an indicator of how the Hammers play under Moyes – allowing their full-backs to get forward and create goals. It was also another sign of Moyes pulling off a bargain in Coufal.
Signed for just £5million, the £31,000-a-week (Spotrac) star is proving to be one of the signings of the season and Hammers fans seem to think so – applauding their right-back for his performance on Monday.
