West Ham fans praise Declan Rice after England performance

Some West Ham United fans have praised the performance of Declan Rice after England’s win over Hungary.

The Three Lions thrashed Marco Rossi’s men 4-0 thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Harry Maguire and the Irons midfielder.

Rice arguably scored the goal of the game with a thunderous strike from outside the penalty box.

The 22-year-old put in an all-action display in the middle of the park.

As well as scoring with his only shot on goal, the ace made two tackles, two interceptions and was fouled twice.

He was praised by former England player Gary Lineker, who congratulated him on his goal.

Rice importance continues to grow

The defensive midfielder continues to go from strength to strength.

It is hard to imagine Rice is only 22, yet is already an important player for both West Ham and England.

His importance to the Hammers ranges well past just being a player. His leadership qualities have made him the centre-piece for David Moyes.

With the Europa League campaign almost upon them, that will be important for the east Londoners.

Meanwhile, he retained a similar role for the Three Lions during the recent European Championships.

His partnership alongside Kalvin Phillips made him undroppable and virtually one of the players of the tournament.

Here is how some West Ham fans reacted to his latest display…

Meanwhile, the club have been struck a blow.
