West Ham fans praise ‘class’ Samir Nasri after beating Arsenal

Samir Nasri made his first Premier League appearance in a West Ham shirt in the win against Arsenal – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter hailed him for his performance.

The 31-year-old only made his Hammers debut last weekend against Birmingham in the FA Cup and was drafted into the starting XI for Saturday’s league fixture.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side climbed to eighth in the Premier League table with a narrow 1-0 victory, as highly-rated talent Declan Rice powered in the decisive goal early in the second-half.

Nasri assisted the only goal of the game with some quick thinking inside the penalty area and has made an impressive start to life at the London Stadium.

The attacking midfielder has experience of English football with spells at Manchester City and Arsenal in the past, but is back now to prove there is still plenty of life in the tank.

He had some neat touches of the ball in the final third and brings an extra creative threat to Pellegrini’s team.

Nasri should only get better as he gets up to full speed, but it appears like he could turn out to be a very smart addition.

A selection of West Ham fans on social media were delighted with the playmaker’s display at the weekend against his former side.

Here are some of the West Ham fans raving about Nasri:
