It’s been a quiet week for West Ham fans following their 4-0 drubbing against Manchester United. However, as the second game week edges ever closer, social media has been buzzing.

Hammers fans have voiced their opinions on a range of topics ahead of their game against Southampton and it looks set to be another nervy weekend for the Irons, who are expected to feature in a tight affair against the Saints.

Score predictions and statistics have been filtering onto social media all day as fans engage with each other, discussing the upcoming match.

As reported on West Ham’s official website, Slaven Bilic has also had his say on the tie with Southampton. He said: “They are a good team, and they were a good team last season, but we beat them 3-1 at their place and we have to find that level of performance again this weekend.”

Aside from West Ham’s fixture, their key centre-back Winston Reid has signed a new long-term contract, as also announced on the club’s official website.

The New Zealand international signs a deal that will see him stay until 2023, meaning he will potentially spend 13 years with the Hammers.

Another centre-back that has been discussed on Twitter by fans is Declan Rice. The youngster impressed against Manchester United last week, and fans have been voicing their opinion on his future.
