West Ham fans on Twitter want to see Zouma starting

West Ham fans cannot wait for Kurt Zouma’s debut.

The Frenchman signed from Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window but he’s yet to feature for the Hammers.

However, as training pictures of Zouma have surfaced, the fans want to see him playing.

So far the supporters have all watched on as Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna have been their defensive pairing.

The club spent just shy of £30m on Zouma (BBC), though, so he can’t warm the bench forever.

Next time West Ham take to the pitch they face Dinamo Zagreb in Europa League action and it could give Zouma a chance to start.

Integrating the Frenchman outside of Premier League action could be the way to go.

David Moyes’ side are unbeaten in the league after four games, so changing too much could prove costly in domestic action.

Should Zouma come in for Zagreb on Thursday and impress then he could well earn a spot in the Premier League side.

The fans want him in the team too.

Dawson has done a sublime job in the side but Zouma is clearly a more astute option.

At the age of just 26 he has a bright future in the Premier League.

At Chelsea he made 151 appearances in total (Transfermarkt) and even shared a dressing room with Thiago Silva in his final year at Stamford Bridge.

The experience that he’ll bring to the London Stadium will be invaluable.

It’s clear to see why the fans are desperate for him to get a start and make his presence in the team known.

It could be a much changed side for Zagreb, especially with Nikola Vlasic and Alex Kral also looking for their first starts.

Next in the league for West Ham is Manchester United and having their best defenders on the pitch will be crucial for that one.
